THE STORY SO FAR...

Karl Welcomes You Karl is an imposter. Age unknown, probably male, a writer living in London, working undercover as a teacher. Okay, so he's at least twenty five. Ooooh you're clever, whaddya want, a medal? ;)

Karl's Imposter writes about living, writing, shopping, going out and... occasionally does other things... in the street and in your face with his theatre group - when you least expect it. You don't have to worry about KI copping out because of the influence of funding bodies, KI has no intention of making a profit ;)

Plans are in motion for the next show :o

At the opening of Dark Matter at the White Cube in London, Karl mingled with the crowd and asked questions about madness and society.

... a video was made and the team were further inspired to work on the production of Apparitions of a Cuckoo, which dealt with the themes of madness and mental health [more].

Karl's Imposter went along to Santacon and made a video where they asked people about faith, with sometimes hilarious yet thought provoking responses [more].

    That Party Buzz

Crisps, twiglets, cocktail sausages, coke, fanta, beer, J.D., vodka, orange juice… hmmm what else?  Shit.
Martin quickly ran his finger across the top of his lip to catch the leakage from his nose.  He needed to blow into a tissue, but just couldn’t be arsed.
What else?  Girls were coming, single girls, so there would be a [...]

    The Grey Greeting

Jenny was coming down the aisle.
Suddenly it struck him – a flashback to the Friday night before:
“Don’t you darling me, what do I look like to you, a fucking pink princess?”
Jenny was his friend.  A good mate, and pretty damn cool, for a lesbian.

    The Pound Shop

    Joe: I’ve had an idea
    Larry: (PAUSE) Oh?
    Joe rolls his eyes.
Joe: (PAUSE) Yeah.   We’re going to open a ninety nine cents shop.
    Larry: Oh…  Oh!  (PAUSE) Oh….
Joe: A shop where everything costs ninety nine cents.
Larry: Wow, that’s cheap, Joe!  I’d go there!
Joe: We don’t need to go there, we’ll be running it!
    Larry: Yeah… yeah!  We’ll run it, and it’ll [...]

    Hating Wednesdays

    Karl hated Wednesdays. Since forever.
He had to deal with that certain pest every week. He so hated this day, Tuesday nights were full of anxiety and Thursday nights were.. not particularly that much better.
Then one day, the pest stopped coming.
Karl suddenly found Wednesdays quite relaxing and even.. a little boring.
    Thinking about the week, [...]
