Tesco wine review: Rawnsley cabernet merlot 2009

It’s fine.  It’s cheap (currently a fiver). As a fan of merlot I have to say there’s something missing from this to make it special but it’ll do the job as a decent table wine for dinner.

Some would say this opinion is due to the wine being Australian while the reviewer is a French-wine-loving Nazi. I would say Nein, das ist pants, it’s just not a spectacular wine.

Heck, I’m just guzzling it to get over nicotine withdrawal and it’s doing an admirable job, alongside a pack of triple choc cookies.

Worth stocking up on a few bottles for a rainy day.

Quick wine review: Tesco Reserve des Tuguets Madiran

Half price at £5, this wine screams that it’s drinkable, inoffensive and not particularly great either.

It’s a cabernet sauvignon / franc / tannis, whatever that means; not too dark, not too fruity with a pleasant aftertaste, but it just doesn’t have anything else.

Could be good with cheese.
If you want some wine for yourself, say for reading a book and so won’t be paying attention to the taste, at £5, this is ok. I certainly wouldn’t pay full price for it!

He loved that film

(This post is to test the automatic publishing on the mailing list and facebook page and will no doubt be cut short on twitter)

Anyway-

He loved it so much, he wanted to be just like the hero.  He wanted to eat the same food as the hero.   He wanted to react like that guy, treat people the same way, live in the same world.

How many kids grow up and take on values from a fictional character, rather than their parents?

How many people leave their society behind for another?
