The push pull. 

Treat 'em mean,

keep 'em keen. 

But how do you know they're really playing?

How do you know they really care?

How do you know the real motivation

for avoiding your careful stare? 

 

What if they really don't care? 

What if they really don't?

Does that make them more attractive?

Are you hypnotised like a goat?

 

The carrot has been dangled

The challenge has been set

whether the carrot is rotten

we hunger blindly to the threat  

Should you even be playing these games?

Were you even invited? 

But we like playing games, 

don't we. 

We do love a challenge.

But do we really like carrots?
